I'm regaining a bit of the fannish squee, what with MJ coming up in a few weeks, plus a visit to my DS fangrrls the weekend before, there is much fannishness and lovely camaraderie ahead for moi.

Totally of the fannish goodness - Look what I just won on eBay...and by won, I mean "determined to outbid everyone". I so had to have this.* I'm all giddy with delight.

(Nan, I was soo going to get you the J2 one, but alas, got too rich for my blood, too soon).

Also of fannish squee, I just finished reading the ARC of Thunder Bay by William Kent Krueger. Kent kindly sent me the advance reading copy b/c a couple of years ago at a charity auction (I *do* gravitate to those, don't I?), I bought a character name in the book. Not only is my character in here, but she's integral to the storyline. Thunder Bay will be out in July. It's part of a fabulous mystery series that I fell in love with some years ago.

Sadly, the weather is springless; a cold front dropping the temps into the low twenties and brining a chill wind with it. Tomorrow, it's supposed to snow. Ah well.

In conclusion: HEROES!!! OMG, such love for that show.

Psst, there are more bears listed now.

Last year, I discovered this charity organization and ended up with a fab 8x10 signed photo of Tab Huinter (yes, he's a bit before my time, but yay, photo!).

This year, different celebs have donated items to the charity drive and they're available now on eBay.

I'm high bidder on one item (a signed hand tracing by Andy Garcia, fellow Cuban), and plan to bid on a couple more (like, ahem, one of the signed Robert Vaughn photos!).

In other news, cement post: 1; chickwriter: 0, auto body shop: $1300. Not a good mix.

I went to get gas a couple of weeks ago, at a station on the way to work. Because there were several other cars already there, and EACH ONE OF THEM in the MIDDLE of the bay, I had to go to a bay I rarely use, because it's awkward to maneuver into from the angle of the driveway (requires some driving around the station and backing and re-pointing the car).

To my credit, I managed that just fine. Filled up, happy to be paying less than $40 for a tank of gas. It wasn't until I was leaving (pulling foward and trying to get around the island, that I heard the nasty crunch/scrape. Seems there was a rogue cement post lying in wait for the hapless Big Red. Red took it like a trouper, ending up with white scratches and a slight crunch on a fender bit. I dropped Red off at the car place on Tuesday morning and got the verdict late that afternoon. Le sigh. Red should be ready today. In the meanwhile, the a.m. bus is quite pleasant and I've been reading Lois McMaster Bujold's Diplomatic Immunity.

So very glad it's Thursday.
