Thanks to the random number generator, the winner of IN THE HUNT is......[livejournal.com profile] hyperfocused!

Please e-me with your mailing addy (I think I have it, but just to be safe...)

Thanks all for entering. In April, I'll be guest blogging at Lori Devoti's blog and giving away a set of my first 2 books. I'll announce it here, closer to the date.

Other things of the win:
-- yesterday, I had my first massage. Although the knots in my neck/shoulder are too tough for one session, I felt so much better afterwards. Am so doing this again. The therapist, a lovely British woman by the name of Lulu, had amazing hands. Strong.

Of the fail:
Snow. Sleet. More snow today. This after Thursday's lovely warm spring temps. Damn. I'm hoping the predictions for 4-8" accumulation are just wrong. :(

Today, I must sequester myself and write. So I'll catch you all on the flip side!

ETA: D'oh, would help to enter *where* I would be guest blogging! Done.

A contest!
For whom?
For you!

Do you love Supernatural? Jared? Jensen? Sam'n'Dean? Metallicar?

Then you're in the right place.

Yours truly (that would be moi) will give away one (1) free (gratis!) copy of the brand new, just-on-the-shelves anthology In The Hunt: Unauthorized Essays on Supernatural.

Why? Because (a) it's a fabulous anthology with (b) fantastic authors and (c) I have an essay in it (Another Roadside Attraction, page 237). (Yes, I will totally sign the book...or not, whichever the winner prefers)

The winner will be chosen totally at random from anyone who comments to this blog post answering the following questions: (I promise, there are no wrong answers!)

(A) In the last 3.5 seasons, what would you choose as your favorite episode and why (in 50 words or less).

(B) If you could create a new character in the Supernatural 'verse and (assuming you were an actor), play him/her on TV, who would the character be? Name, occupation and what role does this person play in the 'verse.

(C) What fabulous '80s song, blues song, jazz song, any song has *not* yet been part of the Supernatural soundtrack but utterly belongs there? (tell me the song title and artist)

(D) Dean? Sam? John? Someone else?

RULES: (yes, we have to have them)

(1) you must tell me who you are (be logged in to LJ, openID or, if you don't have an account, leave at least your first name and last initial in the post - so if you win, I can say Jane D or superfan, you've won!!

(2) You must answer all 4 questions.
[/end rules]

I will ship anywhere that can receive physical mail. Yes, that means outside the US and Canada. If you're waaaaaay far away from me, I may choose a slower postal service because, despite the impression that writers make tons of money, I am not rich. ::g::

So, answer away. Feel free to pimp this contest to all and sundry.

Contest closes at midnight (duh!) February 28, 2009.
All results are final.
No robots need apply.

Just got a note from our editor - there's a mini-site up now for the upcoming BenBella book: In the Hunt.

Here's the official press release:

BenBella Books and Supernatural.tv Team Up to Create the Essential Companion for the Serious Supernatural Fan

Supernatural fans know there’s more to their favorite show than meets the eye; so does In the Hunt!

DALLAS— Now in its fourth season, the CW’s often-neglected Supernatural has demonstrated marked ratings gains since last season and its season premiere showed the largest yearly increase among all entertainment series returning for the 2008–09 season despite its crowded Thursday night time-slot—thanks largely to the efforts of the series’ devoted fanbase, which Supernatural creator Eric Kripke has rightfully called “some of the smartest, most passionate, most intelligent fans of any show on television.”

For In the Hunt, BenBella Books and Supernatural fansite Supernatural.tv have teamed up to give those fans the essential Supernatural companion. In addition to the forward by Supernatural tie-in writer Keith R. A. DeCandido, and passionate, insightful essays by popular SF and fantasy author Tanya Huff, Supernatural RPG writer Jamie Chambers and many others, the book includes the three winning essays from the Supernatural.tv/Smart Pop Supernatural Essay Contest from early 2008.

From Sam and Dean Winchester and the Impala to the show’s demons, monsters and urban legend source material, In the Hunt gives Supernatural fans the in-depth, creative analysis they crave on their favorite television show.
