A contest!
For whom?
For you!

Do you love Supernatural? Jared? Jensen? Sam'n'Dean? Metallicar?

Then you're in the right place.

Yours truly (that would be moi) will give away one (1) free (gratis!) copy of the brand new, just-on-the-shelves anthology In The Hunt: Unauthorized Essays on Supernatural.

Why? Because (a) it's a fabulous anthology with (b) fantastic authors and (c) I have an essay in it (Another Roadside Attraction, page 237). (Yes, I will totally sign the book...or not, whichever the winner prefers)

The winner will be chosen totally at random from anyone who comments to this blog post answering the following questions: (I promise, there are no wrong answers!)

(A) In the last 3.5 seasons, what would you choose as your favorite episode and why (in 50 words or less).

(B) If you could create a new character in the Supernatural 'verse and (assuming you were an actor), play him/her on TV, who would the character be? Name, occupation and what role does this person play in the 'verse.

(C) What fabulous '80s song, blues song, jazz song, any song has *not* yet been part of the Supernatural soundtrack but utterly belongs there? (tell me the song title and artist)

(D) Dean? Sam? John? Someone else?

RULES: (yes, we have to have them)

(1) you must tell me who you are (be logged in to LJ, openID or, if you don't have an account, leave at least your first name and last initial in the post - so if you win, I can say Jane D or superfan, you've won!!

(2) You must answer all 4 questions.
[/end rules]

I will ship anywhere that can receive physical mail. Yes, that means outside the US and Canada. If you're waaaaaay far away from me, I may choose a slower postal service because, despite the impression that writers make tons of money, I am not rich. ::g::

So, answer away. Feel free to pimp this contest to all and sundry.

Contest closes at midnight (duh!) February 28, 2009.
All results are final.
No robots need apply.

Hey, it's not been a week since I posted, yippee!!

"tis Friday and the slithy toves... ahem, backtrack, never mind. Yeah, my brain, she is broken for so many many reasons.

Work was rather fraught yesterday - just project overload catching up to me. I'm better now, but still a bit eep!

I did watch the Supernatural finale. No spoilers here, just a sense of well done, boys, damn well done.

[livejournal.com profile] beledibabe teased me with the flailing for the Ugly Betty season wrapper. This a.m., I was up early and the ep was there on iTunes. I had loads of time before I had to leave for work, so I watched - I joing in the general ::flail:: Holy crap, girlfriends!

My editor, the incomparable Paula Guran, has a fascinating discussion going about the biz of publishiing. Stop in and take her poll.

I go visit Yogita tomorrow - my fabulous hairdresser. My untamed shag will be once more tamed, and back to its former lovely self. The woman is a gem and I'm so glad to have her. My last fabulous hairdresser was when I was in San Antonio. I tried to convince Patty to come to DC, but alas, she would not. ;-)

The day is rather grey, drizzly and rather chilly - a reflectiion of my mood (well, sort of) - the whole last-day-of-work for my star developer. I'm in mourning. We're taking him to lunch today and later, there will be pie. I'm as fond of pie as the next, but I'd rather it be for a more joyous occasion. I am very happy, though, that he's not leaving altogether, at least not quite yet. He's graciously offered to help us out on weekend days. I am so very grateful, because we're in a huge crunch.

I'm still taking vacation as I'd planned, though part of me is racked with guilt and worry - as in a lot. I've talked to my backup Project Manager, who is another gem. He's right - it doesn't really matter when I schedule vacation, it's never a good time. Sigh. I'm just hoping that by next Wednesday, my last day in the office until June 4, that my mood/outlook will have improved.

In any case, life does go on and these are petty, miserable concerns compared to things like what Elaine Viets just went through and is still going through. She's home now, and in high spirits, but her recuperation will be long and tough. She's an amazing woman and I'm so very glad she's still with us.

Well, looks like another brain dump!

Hope everyone enjoys their Friday and subsequent weekend.

After a pretty tense night, I've decided to cancel my participation in the fangrrl squee weekend at [livejournal.com profile] starrcat's. At this point, I just want to sleep. It's been a tough, busy week, capped off by yesterday's incredibly stressful insanity. I'm praying we don't have to work this weekend. At any rate, I will be *so* ready to see you all at MJ next weekend!

Woke up very very early this a.m. and filled the first hour of the morning with Supernatural.

My thoughts (spoilery) )

In conclusion (and ganked from [livejournal.com profile] suricattus):

Your Brain is Purple

Of all the brain types, yours is the most idealistic.
You tend to think wild, amazing thoughts. Your dreams and fantasies are intense.
Your thoughts are creative, inventive, and without boundaries.

You tend to spend a lot of time thinking of fictional people and places - or a very different life for yourself.

a.k.a. random musings from [livejournal.com profile] chickwriter

WWBD? Start a church, evidently!

We loves Friday, my precious, we do. Especially when I get to leave work early and go to see Great Big Sea! I'm still kvelling over the fact that I'm in the THIRD ROW!!

There's nothing like watching TV when you can't sleep...especially Smallville and Supernatural. Uhm, maybe that last wasn't such a good idea, but at 2:00 a.m., it was the only idea. My thoughts on either/both - mostly yay to the SPN and the set up for next week's season finale. Some Jossing going on, but this has been discussed elsewhere and with more coherence. (the links are interchangeable for "elsewhere" and "coherence" - b/c I'm certainly not that today.)

My SV Thoughts - a bit of meta and some spoilery )

Work is bringing in Five Guys burgers for all - yippee!!

I'll be AFK for the weekend, as I'll be hanging with D - still no clue as to what to do tomorrow. Planning dinner at Lebanese Taverna later in the early evening, but nothing so far for daytime. Museum strolling may work, but depends on her knee situation - recent surgery may not allow much walking. Weather should be good, so maybe just a drive around town? I dunno - DC area folks - any ideas?

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend!

ETA - d'oh - I almost forgot - I'm wearing my new t-shirt today - designed by my co-worker and fellow geek. Check it out on CafePress I got the black one.
