France Nguyen get thee behind me!
May. 23rd, 2007 08:29 amIf I break out into a chorus of "I Enjoy Being a Girl", please shoot me.
For whatever reason, call it my own brand of anarchy, call it boredom, I started doing girly things.
Like, agreeing to buy PRODUCT from my hairdresser. Those of you who know me well, know that I don't do that. I cut my hair short, specifically so all I have to do is wash and go - not even blow dry. But somehow, I ended up buying hair gel last Saturday. Not only that, I've agreed to try highlights next time I go.
I could have chalked it up to an aberration, except for what happened yesterday. I saw on the work calendar that one of my coworkers planned on a pedicure today. I made an offhand remark - basically to the effect of "gee, I should do that before I go to Mayhem so I can wear my (not girly) sandals and not have ugly toenails" and another coworker piped up. "Hey, let's go at lunch!" Instead of making excuses, I found myself saying, "Sure!"
So I did.
I had my first pedicure and I now have perfectly manicured, blood red toenails. The interesting part is that it was awesome! I've always been wary of this, because really, feet touching without it being part of a medical exam or well, intimate was really weird to me. Instead of being bizarre or feeling embarrassed, I felt pampered. I think I really needed that.
Next thing you know, I'll be wearing a skirt, on purpose, and without having to--no, wait, there is no need to go *that* far! Let's face it, the girly genes only go so far. I think I'll leave the rest of the girly stuff to Nan. ::g::
I do still have my geek creds though, as evidenced by my results on the "Which Heroes Character Are You" quiz. A hint: He's got Daddy issues and, like me, thinks swords are nifty.
