Wish lists and such
Nov. 21st, 2008 08:09 amAll you lovely LJers are doing the wish list meme, so it's bandwagon time again, except mine is really simple.
I only have one wish this year and it's not for me.
Please buy books as gifts - they're portable, light-weight and can transport you to all sorts of other worlds, situations and introduce you to fascinating characters. What could be better?
As a child, my favorite gifts were always new books (or a gift certificate to a bookstore), music and gadgets. Huh, guess things don't change that much. ::g::
Here are some thoughts for great books you can add to your gift buying:
River Runs Red by Jeff Mariotte
Roux Morgue by Claire M. Johnson
Legacy by Jeanne Stein
Personal Demons by Stacia Kane
The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman
What I'm currently reading:
The Devil inside by Jenna Black
an advance copy of The Messenger by Jan Burke
Both these books tend to make me want to stay up all night/be late for work. I'm hoarding the balance of the reading for the weekend as a treat.
Happy pre-Turkey day weekend, all!
