It's just a flesh wound
Oct. 21st, 2006 09:43 amWhy yes, I *am* feeling better.
Darn colds and lingering coughs.
I actually got some sleep last night. Crashed early, so didn't watch BSG. I'll have to wait until iTunes posts the new episode.
My bestest fangrrl and enabler
sihayab posted a FAB new DS story for me. She so utterly knows me.
I got my copy of Wings to the Kingdom by
wicked_wish, a.k.a. Cherie Priest. I'd fallen in love with her first novel, Four & Twenty Blackbirds. I first heard about her via
scalzi, when he told her story about how Blackbirds was first published by an unscrupulous small press, then later, she was picked up by Tor.
I was intrigued, first by the situation, because as many of you know, I was in the same situation - the unscrupulous small press part, not the Tor part. ::g:: Her being picked up gave me hope. I immediately bought a copy of the book and was instantly hooked. She is a brilliant writer and creates fabulous characters.
Very very happy to have discovered her.
On another note: David Hewlett how are you so freakin' awesome? I was reading this interview and was blown away by his utter geekiness. Dudes, he codes in Python and uses an open source CMS to manage his site. As a Web geek myself, I'm totally impressed. (yes, yes, I'm easily impressed!)
In conclusion: Happy Birthday, Viggo. ::g::
