So, hey, Internets - I'm still here, believe it or not.

I've been spending a great deal of time working at the day job (unlike some places, we seem to get a flurry of busy at the end of the year). I've also been working on Blood Bargain and trying to not tear my hair out. It really is fascinating how many authors get to this point during manuscript writing. Everyone from relative newbies (like me) or multi-award winners. But, like [livejournal.com profile] suricattus said - what separates the pros from the not-so-pros is the ability to keep on trucking. I'm working on staying on the truck. ::g::

It's been snowing all day and the drive home was rather fraught. Only about an inch of accumulation thus far, but most of the roads I drive were less than stellar. No plowing, slushy messes that were quickly turning to ice. Ick! I've never been gladder of my relatively short commute than on snowy nights.

I've been loving the recent SGA episodes; Miller's Crossing was utterly made of win. How awesome are the Hewletts?

Been fairly Ms. Crankypants in general recently. Although I love the glittery madness of the holidays on a generic level and I love the days off, this year, I'm about to *here* with stuff. I'm trying to shake it, but it's not really working. One thing that really helps is listening to Lois McMaster Bujold's books on audio in my car. My commute is short, but I truly enjoy my short visit to the world of Miles, Gregor and the gang. eMusic.com rocks for this. They added audiobooks recently and I immediately signed up and bought a bonus pack right away when I found out they had several of the Miles books. I <3 the Intarwebs.

Sunday, I'm doing a fabulous event in Annapolis to benefit the symphony. Looking forward to the festivities.

Next weekend, I'm doing a first-in-my-lifetime event. It's non-book related, non-fannish. The first ever (that I know of) Lima family reunion is taking place in Miami.

My sister helped coordinate it. She, me and my mom (not a Lima but still closely tied to the family), my BIL and my stepdad are meeting in Miami Thursday evening and then spending a couple of days with my Cuban-based uncle and aunt, their kids and a variety of others. This should be interesting, to say the least. We're staying at the Miami River Inn (a b&b) and plan to have at least one night out at Versailles - the famous Cuban restaurant.

Oh, before I forget, I finally posted my World Fantasy pics on a mini-Web gallery.

Geez, has it really been more than a month? What the heck happened to the time? Le sigh.

Oh well!

Wishing everyone a Happy Hanukwanzamasolstice!!
