Sort of keeping up with LJ - the hotel has WiFi - yippee!!

Yesterday was a gorgeous day. We arrived at the hotel about 11:30 and were able to check in (since E was smart enough to request early check in and told the rest of us to do so).

I'm rooming with CF - we're on the 28th floor. Not too much of a view, we overlook the Chrysler building.

After settling in, the 4 Mystery Babes did the Grand Central thing ([livejournal.com profile] beledibabe leading the way, since none of the rest of us really new what was what). Had a lovely lunch in a little Italian place, then walked around and shopped. I found the scarf I'd been looking for - red and black, to wear at the Agatha banquet on Saturday. Bought some lovely Lapsang Souchong tea from an equally lovely vendor.

Did the agents and editors cruise on the Hudson in the evening - wonderful time!! Got to talk briefly with Mary Higgins Clark - just a few words as she checked in, but *way* cool.

The view of the Statue of Liberty from the Hudson is beyond description.

Dinner last night at a nearby Italian restaurant (guess there's a theme!) - most wonderful food! Got to meet one of the Edgar nominees - she and her husband are a hoot.

Early early night for us all. We'd all been up since 6 a.m., plus the drive in, etc. etc.

Today is the symposium. At noon-thirty - a book signing at Borders (not me, others - and I hope to see some NYC folks there!). Tonight is the Birthday Bash at the New York Yacht club.

Weather is icky (raining and cold) - but what the heck!

Off to brekkie and COFFEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
