Life is going a wee bit insane these days with the day job ramping up (did we ever ramp down?) and work progressing on Blood Bargain part the 2nd, and well, you know, life.

Random #1
Over at Urban Fantasy Land, they continue to discuss the Jane Henderson blog posts (a.k.a. Melissa Marr vs. Laurell Hamilton debate - which has *nothing* to do with either author but totally started by Ms. Henderson). UFL has blogged about cover art in fantasy books and, to my great amusement, the cover of Matters of the Blood is included in the post. I'm not going to link to the whole thing that started it, as UFL does it for me. For the record, I love my cover and I don't see it as a ripoff, copy or whatever of any other author's covers.

Also of interest, Justine Larbalestier's post re: The Non-infringability of Plot and/or Ideas, two concepts that are often difficult to explain to folks. Justine does it brilliantly.

My stepdad sent me a great photo yesterday. It's grandpop Bodine (my stepdad's recently deceased stepdad) riding a Harley-Davidson Sportser bike, sometime in the early '60s.

Pretty nifty, huh?

Cherie Priest (

I tried Safeway grocery delivery for the third time to see what would happen. The 2 prior times, the delivery was late (at least 1/2 hour past the guaranteed window) and many of the items ordered were out of stock. The only reason I placed the order with them is that their online store carried the Birdseye Steamfresh veggies that I like so much. Peapod carries only one variety of those. Well, third time was so not the charm. Same M.O. - late delivery (33 minutes) with no apology by the driver. Three of the items on my quite short list were out of stock. So sorry, Safeway. You're no longer getting my delivery business.

In conclusion, because I am highly amused by this:

Which Buffy the Vampire Slayer Character Are You? )
(for those of you on dialup...I was Giles. Go figure.)
